Some of the steps that need to taken care of before scanning your first information on computer are: you must clean the scanner glass instead of starting in a rush. Switch on the scanner once the glass dries up. Then you are ready to scan the information. Simply put the item to be scanned on the glass sheet with image to be scanned facing the glass sheet. You must line the paper properly. Then you have to run the preview to get an idea about how the picture will appear on the screen. Once the preview is on you can use the mouse to outline the desired scanning area.
Once the picture is ready to be scanned you can use Photoshop to edit the picture and to provide certain enhancements to the image. The most important thing that controls the quality of image on the screen is the resolution of the image. It must be at least 80 dots per inch for a good quality image. Once you have done all these adjustments you can finally press the scan button and see your image being scanned. The image must be stored as jpg or gif file while saving the image.
