Let's play Poker
There are various styles of Poker that people play in homes, casinos and anywhere else where friends can get together and have a great time. This card game is generally used by card game enthusiasts to show who has the best cunning and instincts of a leopard, and can pounce on the opportunity to win a hand when it presets itself. It also might determine who is bluffing and that person will tell everyone he has a great hand that will win, but they never do.
To play the game of Poker, players need betting chips, and playing cards. The poker chips are generally given a dollar amount, and the cards are specifically manufactured to provide large letters and facial images in very color and detail. One popular game of Poker is Jacks or Better, and the player has to have at least a Jack in their hand for the hand to have some contending basis for winning.
Some of the other Poker game styles that people enjoy very much, are Five Card Stud and Texas Hold-em. Five Card Stud is relatively straight forward and is a game preferred for weekend Poker game activities, where friends have limited choices on what to do with their playing cards, and many hands of Poker can be played in the short time that is allotted to them on the weekend. Players are dealt five Poker cards, and through a betting process, the ultimate winner of the hand will be determined.
This game is basically played with the luck of the draw of the cards they receive in determining who has the best hand. The person does a choice on whether he wants to fold his hand and wait till next turn to compete against his fellow card games again, with more determination than ever before to beat them soundly.
In other games of Poker, such as Texas Hold-em, there are many strategies that a Poker player can use throughout the game to come up a winner. This Poker card game requires an initial opening bet, or ante, by everyone at the Poker table. Then there will be a process of raising and calling bets throughout the hand that are based on the two cards the player receive which are referred to as personal cards, and three others that are dealt as Community cards, and are referred to as the Flop, Turn and River. Through bidding techniques and bluffing, and the quality of the card hand the player can form using all of these playing cards, a winner of each Poker hand will be determined.
