Eco-Terrorist or E-Activist; Which Should eGovernment Fear Most?

Everyone realizes that there are folks out there that work outside the system and work very hard to destroy it. Let's take hackers, eco-terrorists or guerilla type anti-government types for instance. These are often hard for authorities to deal with. In the future we must beware of the eActivist as they use the technology to work to undermine the eGovernment IT infrastructures.

Governments in the future will fear the E-Activist and consider them a terrorists similar in damage to an actual hacker. The government that does not properly evaluate itself or pretends everything is okay when it is not, due to paid consultant study in hand to prove themselves right does so at the expense of a potential rebellion from Guerilla type attacks.

Perhaps that is a Colonel Boyd, Carl von Clauswitz, Sun Tzu comment, but it should be obvious to anyone out there who thinks about it. It is government's responsibility to not create enemies unnecessarily. It is a misnomer for governments and government consultants to reassure Administrators, Politicians and staff that they simply need to do more Public Relations to prevent malcontents and citizens from becoming upset.

The eGovernment Teams must do more than set up websites or explain to the e-citizen what they are doing, and they must not deny their own inefficiencies or lack of e-services, actually this amounts to nothing more than frosting on pig poop. If you consider today calling up a Large Corporation and pressing one, or two you can see how this upsets the customers.

The eGovernance Initiatives must serve the eCitizen or the eActists turn e-terrorists will indeed move to attack the integrity of the system itself.
