Many people do not know how to get a copy of their credit report. A credit report is one of the most powerful pieces of credit that a person can have. This is because a credit report will contain all of the credit history that a person has accumulated throughout their life. The credit report is used as a tool by lending institutions to determine if you are the type of person that they would want to loan money too.
The credit information that is contained in a Credit Report is sent by one of three credit reporting agencies. Any one of the three credit bureaus can be credited with continually monitoring your credit report files and documenting all purchase methods that involve a person obtaining money strictly by the credit buying practices that they have experienced over a lifetime of shopping.
The three credit bureaus are Equifax, TransUnion and Experian. The information that is provided by these credit monitoring agencies is promptly posted on a credit report, that people can obtain copies of if they are curious about where they stand as far as a credit score goes. People will already be aware of things that might reflect negatively on their credit report, because they know what payments they are late on, and how many times they have been late.
People will generally have a good idea of their credit score, when they review the numerous letters from credit card companies, that have to reply to requests for credit with negative responses. They will inform the individual about how they came to their decision to deny credit, and will tell them that the information came from one of the credit reporting agencies that monitored their credit report.
People that have an excellent credit report score, will generally be offered lower interest rates on any loan that they desire. The credit limits for people with stellar credit report scores are sometimes raised high enough to enable the individual to walk onto any car lot, and drive off in the car of their choice. The interest rate for their exquisitely leveled credit card will be determined by the fantastic credit report that they have on file at the three credit reporting agencies.
Many people keep a watchful eye to any changes that might occur on their credit report, and some are very fearful that someone might attempt identity theft to benefit from their superior credit report score. People notice change of addresses first of all on their credit report, because that is the favorite way for thieves to get a credit card using someone else’s identity.
